Looking to share great music, bands and help local venues

Water From Your Eyes – Strange Brew – 18 Nov

For us (and probably for a lot of others too), Water From Your Eyes sprung to prominence with their 2023 LP “Everyone’s Crushed” and the tracks “Barley” and “True Life”.  This was a set with a selection of those tracks and others from the back catalogue as well as the 2025 LP “It’s a Beautiful Place”. What a treat! It was fantastic.

OK, so from where we were stood, this appeared to be a well informed bunch of gig goers. A crowd who clearly knew the band and really appreciated them. In turn, lead singer Rachel referenced that the Bristol audiences were some of the best they had ever played to – so this was two way love-in. Once again, Strange Brew as a venue delivered.

Firstly, it’s worth acknowledging that there is very little repetition with this band, nothing sounds over familiar or too similar. It’s a multi genre and multi talented act. Theres’s rock, crashing chords, some dance and some mosh, and some experimental electronica moments.  Secondly, as that suggests, guitarist Nate looks cool and calm, in complete control. He even treated us to an excellent guitar solo, which we were fortunate to capture (and have shared on Instagram). Finally, Rachel is an outstanding lead vocalist and front person – at all times articulate, personable and engaging. She even recalled a story from their previous visit and the name of the food place they had eaten.

If you don’t know this band, now is the time to introduce yourself. You could listen to the recent LP or the 2023 one we mentioned earlier. Just make sure you do it and then get to see them too. They deserve your attention!
