We remember being very excited about Working Men’s Club when they first appeared 6 or 7 years ago. A number of great singles followed and some fantastic LPs as well. And then collaborations and remixes over the last few years. All of it is unquestionably brilliant. Having seen them live as well, we know they can deliver. Electronica, dance and atmosphere. Do not miss them in Electric at 745.
They describe themselves as ‘part pop, part punk, fully unhinged’ and we’re assuming that the chaos of the Disgusting Sisters will be both musical and visual. The singles that they’ve released so far suggest you might hear all kinds of genres and experience a lot in this 30 minute set. They play Electric at 215.
We’ve lost track of the number of times we’ve had the pleasure of seeing Knives (above) perform and they are certainly Ritual Union regulars rewarded with a late afternoon spot on the biggest stage at this year’s festival. Last year’s LP ‘Glitter’ and the associated singles are all superb and we’ve played them on the Dandelion Radio show. Expect no compromise, expect it to be in your face, expect to be told how they feel. An outstanding band. It’ll kick off in Electric at 515.
If you like some fun alongside your synthpop then J J Bull is definitely worth getting along to see. Oh, and football. It’s not compulsory but if you like songs about football then go and see, as most of the songs are about the ‘beautiful game’. He has been known to improvise as well so this will be really interesting and offers something very different.
We’ve never seen Lemonsuckr and by all accounts we’ve missed out. High energy with driven guitars and getting a lot of plaudits at present for their live shows. We can tell you that their recorded output has lots of different things going on and is full of ideas, and we are looking forward to this a lot. Great stuff. In Electric 2 (that’s upstairs) at 6.
