Bands to see at Dot to Dot Festival 2026

OK, it’s worth saying Lambrini Girls and Mandy, Indiana are both exceptional artists and well worth seeing. You’ll find extensive coverage of both on the One Big House website. And yes, that does mean that we are actually recommending thirteen bands………

When we were at End of the Road festival last year, the final day could be remembered for two things; terrible weather and Adult DVD.  They were so much better than anything else we saw that day – danceable, sophisticated, exciting and adventurous. If you like to move your feet as well as witness musicians who know exactly how to keep up the interest levels, then this should be on your list. Check out recent single “Real Tree Lee”. They play Academy at 1730.

Be prepared for guitars and riffage from the wonderful Middleman. The LP “Following the Ghost” is highly recommended and been receiving lots of airplay on the One Big House radio shows this year. No nonsense here – hit drums hard, keep the bass thumping and make the guitars squeal. On at 1830 in Rough Trade.

On the back of a very strong recent LP, The Itch are hopefully on an upward projectory.  If synth keys, proper drums and fantastic vocals are your thing then this is a must. Check out “Space in the Cab” and “Aux Romanticiser” from the LP. Be prepared to, at least, tap your toes. Save some energy for 2230 – Upstairs in the Louisiana.

In a less than half empty Thekla last December we watched Tooth absolutely nail their set. Not put off by the lack of attendees we certainly felt like they played their socks off for us. They describe themselves as sweaty and promising, there’s some Indie bangers here. Check out “The Age of Innocence” and “Restless in Bloom”. It’s the Thekla again at 1715. Let’s jump around and enjoy it.

Plenty of good things happening for La Securite (pictured above) at present. A great LP “Bingo!” and picking up some airplay on 6Music too. A bit brash and a bit shouty, this will kick you out your slumber. Expect some moshing in the Fleece at 2115.

Ritual Union festival earlier in the year featured the wonderful Another Country $$$$ and they were outstanding. Drums are beaten with rigour and there’s some clever keys and samples going on. In equal measures, subtle and in your face. One of our favourite bands from the last year. The Island isn’t big so get there well in advance of the 1515 start time.

We are really excited for the dark and cold that will accompany Mouth Ulcers. We are imagining dry ice, cold sounds and moody vocals. As we have never seen them, that’s we are expecting – it’s certainly what the terrific set of released tracks sound like! We haven’t stopped playing “Prevail” and “Closer to You” on the One Big House radio show. Top deck of the Thekla (probably without any dry ice) at 1745.

Charismatic and energetic was how we previously described Claudia from Lawn Chair when we saw them previously. But the songs are there as well. If you like Devo or Squid, then take the best bits and combine, then this is recommended to you. Check “The New Low” single that has just been issued and be prepared to jump around in the top stage of the Academy at 2015.

One of the many local bands we are looking forward to seeing is Erotic Secrets of Pompeii, a combination of art-punk and a flamboyant pop/gothic throwback. The LP “Pitchfork Libra” is definitely worth a listen. Get to the Island early afternoon, they are on 1415. We’ve now seen Nobodys Dad a couple of times and they are very impressive. There’s no genre that you can easily label on this bad. Bit emo, bit shoegaze, a couple of punky tracks but rest assured they are using guitars to their limits here. Could be one of the highlights of the day. In the Louisiana bar at 1600. And finally our other pick of the local bands is Mumble Tide. Last year’s LP is full of melody and melancholy, and that’s a big positive for us. They play the Lanes at 1830.

Enjoy this music, then check our radio show.
